Feature Preview: Color Selection Enhancements
In the next edition of SongShow Plus, enhancements have been made in the selection of colors. First, an effort was made to normalize the color selection process. Over the years, new color control have been introduced from time to time, even while the older ones persisted. Now, when you get to a point of specifying a specific color for an item, you will use the same color control in all places.
Here is a screen shot of the color selection panel:
As you can see, the top contains a preset of common colors. Below are six sliders used for adjusting Red, Green, Blue, Hue, Saturation, and Lightness control. This is the first time Hue, Saturation, and Lightness have been broadly provided as a color selection mechanism throughout the user interface.
Next to the sliders are numeric edit boxes where you can manually enter the 0-255 value of the color components if you prefer.
Toward the bottom of the control you'll also notice a new Pick Color
button. When you click on this, the mouse will change to a color selection tool. While in this mode, you can click anywhere on the screen. When you do, the color of the pixel you click on will be automatically set in the color control. This has been a common request in the wish list.
And as before you can copy the selected color to the clipboard and paste it into the color control of another item as a way to easily set the same color to multiple items.
These will be welcome enhancements for those particular about color selection.
