I was recently asked "Is there a particular reason you went with PNG graphics, rather than text objects?". Here's the answer...

And we (PS users) are very grateful. The PNG transparency support is something I use probably every week.

RE: Online Bible 4.0 support by George in User Support - V7

Hey Joel,

I was contacted by the guys at GFM and it appears the Support team has had some experience with the new version of Online Bible.  Contact them and see if they can address your concern.

This was not repeatable after a reboot, but then again I was almost done. It didn't have enough time to drain the memory if it was a memory leak.

RE: SSB crashes system by techarts in Beta Test Support

Sounds like time for calling support folks, Dick.  I'm having no problems on 2/4/10 build with either Vista 64 bit or 2 Windowx XP SP3 machines.  Must be something else going on in your machine that might require the tech folks.

I loaded the 02/04/2010 Candidate Release and it seems to be working. Might have been the NVIDIA fix.

RE: Video Cards by iamgap in User Support - V7

How about working a deal with Video Card manufactures to allow "Beta Testing"? It would mean a LOT of time spent changing video cards, but I'd take the time.

Nothing like being the "Official Video Card Supplier of SongShow Plus".

RE: Dual monitors and projector question by osborn4 in User Support - V7

I was referring to using an A/B switchbox rather than an amplifier/splitter (DA box).

Your setup is what I was trying to describe. :ccol:

RE: Stage Monitor Output Problem by techarts in User Support - V7

I don't think ours is showing what is "next" but shows what was just used before hitting the Mute Display or Clear Display Toggle button. But I could live with an "option" too.

RE: Codec packs? by George in User Support - V7

Strictly speaking, the divx format (.divx) is not currently supported in SSP. This is also true of the loosely related .xvid and .mkv extensions.
Where it gets a bit complicated is that the divx compression can be used inside a wrapper, such as AVI, which would make it visible in SSP but would not play if the codec was not present on the system.  There is a possibility that it will not play even if the codec is present.

Certainly if you can get things to play to your satisfaction by adding other components that is your choice but it is an unsupported configuration.

Although there are many that may disagree with me, I have found that loading codec packs does more harm than good with respect to SSP.  If you stick to the supported video types you will have a better experience.

RE: Slow video down by akins in User Support - V7

I guess I gotta give you time to add it don't I?

I've never thought much of the limit of ten choices since I always had more than ten wishes I would like answered. I'd just as soon have the tech guys look at every wish, think about them, decide if they make sense and can be implemented reasonably, then either accept or reject them, and finally let us know the decision. Having wishes available for open discussion is a good idea as that usually will generate other ideas and gives tech some indication as to what the users are thinking. Right now there are too many old wishes still on the system and there are many great wishes (my judgment) still waiting to be added to the program. User input is essential in keeping programs vital and SSP has done a reasonably good job of listening -- but I still would like to see more activity in the wish-granting business.

RE: Song Display Properties... by osborn4 in User Support - V7 on Windows Vista

Glad you figured it out.

For anyone searching for help on this, there is a check box in the song lyrics display option that will italicize choruses, bridges and etc.

RE: 32bit vs. 64bit by fbcgoshen in User Support - V7 on Windows 7

Just updated 2 machines from xp x86 to win7x64. They are faster than when they were xp. I will not be going back to anything x86 so my vote is x64. Both machines are Win 7 Pro x64, I had to use virtualiztion on 1 of them to control our digital sound board other than that no issues here so far.

RE: Beta testers using Win XP - WARNING - nvidia driver version 196.21 breaks SSP Beta on XP by iamgap in Beta Test Support

Depending on how new that is, it might be the version I have. It looks familiar. I will try to look at it tomorrow. If not then, Saturday.

WARNING - nvidia driver version 196.21 breaks SSP Beta on XP by George in SongShow Plus Beta Release Articles

WARNING - nvidia driver version 196.21 breaks SSP Beta on XP.

Installing this driver version seems to break video playback on WinXP systems.  We are looking for a solution at this time.  The previous drivers appear to work OK.

Search field bug? by iamgap in Beta Test Support

The person that runs the 11am service was trying to search for some images in the Plug-ins panel during the service. He stated that when he used the backspace key, it cause SSP to change what is being display. Should SSP ignore key-strokes when a text box is active?

I just tested this, and even though the key is doing what it is supposed to do in the text box, it also does what the keyboard shortcut would do.

I have never tried doing a search within the Plug-ins panel, so I am not sure if this is a new behavior, or if it has always done this.

RE: Windows Versions and SSP Compatibility (SI008) by George in System Issues

UPDATE:

Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit)

Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit) is the Windows 7 platform used for all SSP testing and validation. As before, other version of the operating system such as Windows 7 Home and the 32bit versions may work (as users have reported) but will not be specifically tested during ongoing validation.

RE: Bug in highlighting by akins in User Support - V7

George, I don't have the previous version running at present, but, as I remember, SSB was OK, but selecting scripture exhibited the same characteristics: i.e., the clicked item doesn't highlight until the cursor is moved off (and highlight is removed if the cursor is moved back over the original selection.

Does this version fully support unicode yet?

I'm sorry, but this edition does not address any further support for unicode.
