Can't wait to hear more about audio improv.

I am thinking the same thing Joel.

Doug, You guys must have been chompin at the bit to get this out. Way to keep up on top of things.

I am about to apply the 2/26 now, and will take the beta home. I wish I had a better machine at home to play with it.

A couple of quick questions:
Does Color Improv work on top of Background Improv? When I am using Background Improv, the display doesn't change colors with Color Improv, but the current and next displays do.
Can the size, transparency, etc. of the Overlay Improv display be changed? If so, how? I've searched around for 10 min. w/o finding how to do it.

Regarding Color Improv on BGI - the short answer is yes.  Color Improv is set as an effect.  See the Beta KB on this.

As far as the Overlay Improv - Yes again... On the far right of the panel is a vertical settings tab.  Click that.

Colour Improv and Colerlay Improv are so cool!
I've been using them for a little while now, you can see them both in action here.

I have a 3 day youth event coming up tomorrow, where we have a actual budget for lighting (We had none in that previous link).
So as you can see, Colour Improv multiplies your backgrounds, and I think I LOVE IT!

Greetings, I do hope that the Windows 7 compatibility will be fully worked out by the time this one comes out. The December version is virtually unusable on my Windows 7 workstation, I am sorry to report to you. I went back to September edition. (Dec edition works fine on our XP presentation machine.)

Here are the issues my near-brand-new Windows 7 Professional has with Dec release of SSP:

1) Red "X" close button non-functional
2) "Exit" on menu non-functional
(ctrl-alt-del only way to close out Dec SSP on Windows 7 Professional OS)
3) "Program" drop-down menu non-functional
4) "Songs" drop-down menu non-functional
5) "Song/Edit" context menu non-functional

Thank you

Ken Rosentrater

Ken, you should call tech support and work this through with them. I have had no troubles with the December 2009 release on Windows 7.

I suppose you are right. However, with a full plate I just didn't have time then to mess with it, so I reverted to the September release. I'll have to wait for a day when I can give a few hours, as I am sure it will take!

thanks

I had the very same problem while I was trying out the December Version with the Windows 7. After some "trial and error" process, I found out the problem is related to the "Cinematic FX" collection.

Try to uninstall and reinstall it without the Cinematic FX option (unselect it when reinstalling SSP). It worked fine for me. Good luck.

Cleber

I understand that situation. Been there several times. But usually pleased with the result once I do have time to call and have them take a look.

Greetings, I do hope that the Windows 7 compatibility will be fully worked out...

Ken and Cleber,

If you are having issues, please contact the support team as they are better equipped to handle you inquiry by looking at your system via remote to determine what is going on.

At the very least, please post your comments in the correct forum.  If you are having Window 7 issues, they need to go in the User Support - V7 on Windows 7  forum so that the people that can address your post will see it in a timely manner.

I looked at the issues you listed on several Win7 systems and saw no issues.  This is all the more reason you should contact the support team at your earliest convenience so they can walk through it with you.

Thanks Cleber, for the clue, and George, for the offer.

Since I have more to do than I can keep current on anyway, I'll stick with September version that I know works until I see / hear indications that the Windows 7 glitches are cleared out. I have no desire to uninstall/reinstall and hope that things might work and/or to spend lengths of time on tech support trying to iron things out.

Just let me know when the upgrades fully function with Win 7. Thanks.

See, there's the problem. In all their testing, it is fully functional with Windows 7.

So until they can take a look at your system, your problems cannot be worked on.

PowerPoint files are skipping the first slide when presented in SongShow Plus (TS116) by George in Troubleshooting

Symptom:
PowerPoint files are skipping the first slide when presented in SongShow Plus.  This appears to only be happening with PPT 2010.

Possible Cause:
Root cause is unknown at this time.

Possible Solutions:
1. Add a blank slide as the first slide of the PowerPoint slideshow.
2. Convert your PPT files to slideshows using the slide import tools.
3. Create your slideshows in the SSP Slide show builder.

RE: Send The Fire Background by osborn4 in In Action

The background color was set to black and the background image to don't show, to have the unmasked part of the background black.

To get the text where I wanted it, I changed the song layout properties so that the lyric area was about the top half of the screen and then selected center/center for alignment.

But with a large logo like this, it worked very well.

RE: Images as songs? by dlmoon in User Support - V7

In my opinion the best way to do what you are trying to do is use background improv. I use it every service both background image and background motion. You can have a different image or motion for each verse and or chorus of a song. I try to fit the background to the theme of the service be it patriotic or winter, spring or harvest time. It looks like to me to make different slides for each song is a lot of unnecessary work. With background improv you are only limited to the number of images/motions you have in your liberary. I have created a folder called 1 Today's Improv. The number 1 in the foloder name makes it be the first folder in the improv folder tree. I copy the backgrounds I want to use for that service in that folder. Before the service I expand my Today's Improv folder and all my backgground motions or images are right there handy. Sure you have to use the mouse a lot more and pay close attention to where you are in the song and remember to kill the background of the song by clickiing the Transparent button but after using it a little you soon get used to it. Since I started using background improv I am constantly getting comments on how much it adds to the service and sets the mood for worship. I love it and I'm sure you will to if you work with it and give it a chance.

All,

I believe what you are looking for is the Multiline text option.

From the program panel, select the 'Show Details' drop down icon and make sure the Multiline Text option is not checked.

Actually, its call "Full Text" (George: you're looking at the new, yet-to-be-released build).

source video lost when using Video Device in SongShow Plus (TS115) by George in Troubleshooting

Symptom:
When trying to use a device from the Video Devices panel the video signal is lost and either a blank or default background is presented instead.

Possible Cause:
The signal has been lost because the device connected/added in the Video Device panel is powered off.

Possible Solution:
Turn on the device connected/added in the Video Device panel.  Restarting SongShow Plus or removing and re-adding the device from/to the panel may be required to restore the connection.

Possible Cause:
The signal has been lost because the device connected/added in the Video Device panel has gone to sleep.

Possible Solution:
Prevent the device connected/added in the Video Device panel from going to sleep by disabling the hibernate or power saving mode.  Restarting SongShow Plus or removing and re-adding the device from/to the panel may be required to restore the connection.

RE: General Refresh Problems with Slide Shows - Win 7 by DougM2 in User Support - V7 on Windows 7

Uninstalled and reinstalled the latest build. Initial tests after service today indicate that it is fixed. Updated some random slides from today's announcements and they instantly changed on screen. Now if I can just get Alvin and the chipmunks out of my videos (randomly) we will be set! "Current" still doesn't refresh if you add or delete a slide, but re-running the slide show fixes that.

Too many verses added during verse order selection (TS114) by George in Troubleshooting

Symptom:
When adding verses to the verse order using the blue left arrow, if you attempt to add the same verse twice by quickly clicking twice on the arrow, 3 entries are made for the verse in question.

Possible Cause:
The root cause in unknown but it appears the the second click is seen as a double click and adds the item twice.

Possible Solution:
The work around at this time is adding the verses more slowly.  If there is sufficient time between clicks the behaviour does not occur. Simply deleting the extra item is also acceptable. An adjustment to the mouse double click sensitivity may also help avoid this behavior.

RE: Stage Monitor Output by mike in Feature Reviews

I went ahead and setup an A/B switch so that I can choose whether I display the "stage monitor" output or the "Display output" to our stage monitor. The trouble is making sure the switch is in the right position. I don't know much about electronics, e.g., whether or not the spike caused by the flip of a VGA A/B switch could damage an expensive graphics card, so I decided to keep VGA distribution amplifiers between the computer VGA outputs and the switch. This also works because the second output of each distribution amp goes to my display monitors.

I have attached a link to my wiring diagram.

RE: Can SSP files be converted to a PowerPoint file? by osborn4 in User Support - V7

You can save SlideShow Builder slide shows as a series of jpgs. And songs could be converted (one at a time) to slide shows, which could be converted to jpgs and those could be put into powerpoint.

But you're giving up a lot of control by going to powerpoint.

Have you looked at the online training offered by GoFishMedia.net?

Symptom:
DVD Import and playback of DVDs in SongShow Plus is unstable with Multi-Core support enabled.  Import may succeed and play but subsequent playback attempts may cause SSP to hang for some time before recovering.  An SSP restart may be required.

RE: March 2010 Edition, 6/02/2010 Update by mike in Latest News

Just FYI.. I used Pan and Zoom this weekend from within a slide show for a couple of pictures.
It did not work correctly on very large (straight off of the camera) pictures. It did work fine on a picture that I resized earlier to the native resolution of my display monitor (i.e., 1024x768).   I do not know for sure that the size was the problem; but in the past (working on an under-powered machine) I found I always had much better results with appropriate sized graphiics. And it makes sence, there is a lot more work for the computer to do if it is working with a huge file.

I normally resize all large image files before using them; but I was handed a thumbdrive right before the service with pictures from VBS.
