DirectX 9 video cards are required for the use of high-end graphics features in SongShow Plus.

Previously, certain DirectX 8.1 video cards were supported for some high-end graphics features, however changes in the technology have forced this restriction. These changes were first implemented In the October 2007 Edition and documented at its release (SSP032).

In general, cards from NVIDIA in the 5xxx family or newer should be DirectX 9 compliant and cards from ATI/AMD in the 95xx family or newer should be DirectX 9 compliant.  Please check with the manufacturer websites for details on your card if you are unsure.

Today, DirectX 9 compliant cards can be found at very reasonable prices through many retail and online sources.  Check with your IT department or system provider for any system restrictions for hardware updates such as video card slot type before purchasing a replacement.  Once this has been determined you can refer to our knowledge base article "Recommended Professional Level Video Cards (DI009)" for suggestions.
