Windows® 98, Me, 2000, and XP Users: You can use a multi-port video card -- one that provides two distinct outputs OR you can install an additional video card. The first option is preferable.  XP is the recommended version of Windows to use.

Simply connect two monitors to your video card, open your display settings and select the “Extend my desktop onto this monitor” option.

To get to the display settings, right click on your desktop and click Properties.  Then click the "Settings" tab. 

Make sure that you use the primary monitor (1) as your work area and the secondary monitor (2) as your display area for best results.
