Typically, we recommend that trace files should be run from within a user profile that has full administrative access to the system, however it may be necessary to get trace data from a Standard user account.

Creating the file needed to initiate a trace of SSP on VISTA / Windows 7 requires Administrator level permissions. When this is executed the SongShow Plus Trace.ini file is actually created on the desktop of the Administrator account profile used to grant permissions.

Running a trace and creating a results file in a Standard user account is possible but requires copying of the SongShow Plus Trace.ini file from the desktop of the Administrator account used to grant permissions to the Standard user account desktop.

Once this is done the trace operation will run as expected when SSP is launched and the results file will be created on the desktop.
