Windows 7 Compatiblity

SongShow Plus and Windows 7 Compatibility

The September 2009 Edition of SongShow Plus was primarily tested on Windows Vista. Some preliminary testing of SongShow Plus on Windows 7 has taken place.  At this time, there are some known issues so we do not recommend using this edition, or earlier editions, of SongShow Plus with Windows 7.

The next edition of SongShow Plus (following the September 2009 Edition) will focus primarily on Windows 7 compatibility. Few, if any, new features will be introduced. We expect to have a Windows 7 supported edition of SongShow Plus available shortly after its official release.

Updated information will be provided in the Knowledge Base and the Windows 7 Support forum as it becomes available.

Windows Vista Compatiblity

SongShow Plus and Windows Vista Compatibility

Starting the April 2008 Edition of SSP, all primary is performed on Windows Vista SP 1 and full technical support is available for use with SSP on this platform.

There are a few known issues that are documented, and it's possible that other issues may become apparent as more users migrate to Vista. The known issues with SSP on Vista include DVD compatibility, use of the QuickMessage utility, use of various third-party software products, and scenarios where earlier editions of SSP have been installed on Vista. Updated information will be provided in the Knowledge Base and the Vista Support forum as it becomes available.

However, if you are currently using Windows XP, there is no compelling reason, from a presentation features perspective, to upgrade to Vista at this time.
